Help me to stop confusing a change in my circumstances with a change in my security status. You are my security, O God. You are the one sure thing. When everything around me shakes, You are unshakable. Nothing has the propensity to reveal false gods to me like a sudden change in my circumstances. Help me to see them and surrender them instantaneously. Use change to provoke what needs changing in me, Lord, and to increase my appreciation of the only One who is the same yesterday, today, and forever."


A profound prayer by Beth Moore in her book, So Long, Insecurity, to still your heart anytime life seems to rush right past you, whether you like it or not. How comforting is it to know that you belong to a God who is called The Beginning and The End? The only peace we can have on earth is by resting our hearts in this promise, rather than our circumstances, and it is then we can truly say --it is well, with my soul.

"And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:7
