[I Celebrate the Day]

Contrary to popular belief, Christmas is not primarily a time to enjoy family and friends, as sweet of blessings as they are. It is primarily the celebration of the birth of our Savior and Redeemer, our treasure. We celebrate because we already know what He has done for us on the cross. His birth and life are the birth and beginnings of our reconciliation: our beginning to freedom. Maybe you awoke this morning to a glittering tree surrounded by perfectly wrapped shiny new toys, a loving and sometimes loud family, and hot cocoa. Maybe you awoke cold, hungry, and alone. But today you hold in your very spirit the most unbelievable, invaluable, precious gift-- one that always fits and you can never exchange-- the gift of Grace, Redemption, and the gift of Life. I pray that whatever condition your heart is in tonight, you will read these words and see only Christ; feel the tugging in your very soul; hear His whisper as He beckons you, His beloved, to meet Him where you are . I pray that you will accept the Gift of Jesus Christ and cling to it with every fiber of you until you arrive Home to Him. For He was born so you might really live. Wishing you a very merry Christmas wherever you are tonight, friend.

I celebrate the day, that You were born to die

So I could one day pray for you to save my life.
